Itinerary
Arequipa – Colca Canyon -Arequipa
At 07:45 am pick up from the hotel to board the mobility towards the Colca Canyon, where we will begin our journey along the road to Yura, where we will admire the natural and cultural landscape of the area, then border the Chachani volcano and pass through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca to reach Pampa Cañahuas, on the way the guide will be explaining to enrich us of the history, flora, fauna and culture of the white city and the places to pass. We will appreciate the natural habitat of the famous South American camelid the Vicuña.
Continuing with the tour on the way we will make a short stop in Patahuasi (high house) to drink coca tea. Immediately we will continue the trip to the wetlands where we will observe different species of local and migratory birds according to the season, then we will continue to Patapampa, the highest point of the trip located at 4,710 m.a.s.l. (15,543 ft.) m.a.s.l. approx. Also known as the viewpoint of the Andes, here you can see different volcanoes such as Mismi, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, Ampato, Ubinas and Chachani.
12:45 approx. Arrival to the town of Chivay. Lunch at the chosen restaurant (Optional).
16:30 approx. We will enjoy a refreshing bath in the hot springs “La Calera” and at the same time we can visit the museum of the Collahuas and Cabanas. (Optional). After the visits we will return to the city of Arequipa. Hotel in Arequipa.
