Chonta Viewpoint of the Condor 1 Day
Mirador del Condor is located in the Apurimac River Canyon at 1500 masl in the community of Chonta in the district of Limatambo. It is a new tourist product for those who want to get out of the ordinary, especially for nature lovers, we can observe birds like eagles, hawks, kestrels, hummingbirds among others, during the tour we will visit beautiful archaeological remains as; Quillarumiyoq and Tarawasi and different natural attractions such as mountains, streams, rivers and snowy, finally we will witness the majestic flight of the condor in its natural habitat, home to approximately 200 Andean condors.

Itinerary
Full Day: Cusco – Quillarumiyoc – Tarawasi – Apurimac River Canyon
We pick you up from your hotel to board our private tourist transportation at approximately 7:30 am in the morning, then we will head to the district of Limatambo for approximately 2 hours, along this trip we will visit 2 very important archaeological sites such as Quillarumiyoc (Temple of the Moon and fertility) and Tarawasi (Tambo del Inca) that with the help of our official tour guide, we will understand the philosophy and idiosyncrasy of the Andean cosmovision as well as the Inca architecture. Continuing our journey on the paved road to the Huayronca bridge where we will deviate our journey by a carriageable trail to the community of Chonta located at (3400 mt. / 11,220 ft.). During the trip we will have the opportunity to take pictures, especially with the Nevado Salkantay (6,272 mt./ 20,697 ft.), the fertile valley of Limatambo with its beautiful scenery. We will arrive at the community of Chonta at approximately noon, where we will enjoy our delicious lunch observing the Salkantay snow-capped mountain and its surroundings.
After lunch we will start our 1 hour and a half hike approximately by a wide and very beautiful path with a temperate climate to the viewpoint of the Condor Canyon at 3350 mt./11,055 ft.), from this point we will have the opportunity to witness the flight or festival of Andean condors in their natural habitat. We will settle at the lookout point and wait for the condors to return from their daily activities, this wait will not be for long as the condors normally return in the afternoon from approximately 3:00 pm to their nests. Here you will have the opportunity to see and photograph the condors from up close, some at less than 20 meters for an average of 2 hours. After seeing the condor we will return walking to the village of Chonta where our transportation will be waiting for us to return to Cusco city arrival time at approximately 19:30 pm.
