Paracas, Ica & Nazca 3D/2N

Day 1: Paracas Natural Reserve

07:00 Hrs. Departure to the city of Paracas by private transportation or with the bus of Cruz del Sur Transportation Company.

11:00 Hrs. Paracas Natural Reserve, this is an immense protected area located south west of the city of Pisco. The name of this beautiful place is derived from a Quechua word that means “rain of sand”, probably due to the strong winds lashing in the evening in this place. The Paracas reserve is also very important since its waters inhabit abundant amounts of zooplankton and phytoplankton, which allows the existence of a variety of fish that permits industrial and artisanal fishing. This is a very important activity in the town of Pisco. The Paracas Reserve is located in an area of ​​335,000 hectares and is considered one of the most important ecosystems on the planet. During our visit we can appreciate the beautiful cliffs and beaches along this tour (Red beach, Yumaque beach, Lagunilla).

During this tour we will make a stop at Lagunilla beach where we can taste the marine food and also take a refreshing swim. We will also be able to appreciate groups of flamingos feeding on the seashore. To be able to appreciate these beautiful birds better, it will be necessary to make a small walk towards a small viewpoint from which you will be able to appreciate them more closely. According to some historians, these were the birds who inspired the liberator San Martin to create the colors of our red and white flag. Then you can visit the interpretation center of the reserve, in this place we can learn about the marine flora and fauna of the Paracas Reserve.

Day 2: Islas Ballestas & Sandboard Oasis Huacachina – Ica

08:00 Hrs. Ballestas Islands

Excursion to the Paracas Peninsula, the most important wildlife sanctuary of the Peruvian Coast. We will take a motor boat ride to the Ballestas Islands, in the Paracas National Reserve, where we can observe sea lions, booby birds, pelicans, penguins and other seabirds. Upon returning we will have the opportunity to see the “Candelabra”, a giant figure of the Nazca Lines style made in the sand. Free time before returning to take photos of sea lions, seals and seabirds.

Return 11:00 Hrs. Departure to the city of Ica in a private transport and / or Transport Company Cruz del Sur approximately one hour trip to the chosen hotel, and a short break.

Lunch.

PM. Sandboarding at the Oasis of Huacachina. Pure adrenaline adventure that includes the visit to the Huacachina Lagoon and the walk through the dunes and / or sand dunes of the desert. Spectacular for its natural formations where we will make our tour aboard the Buggies or Tubular cars, which are vehicles with 4×4 traction specially prepared to do this tour and driven by expert pilots. This Full Adrenaline activity is complemented with the practice of the board on sand also known as SANDBOARDING. The afternoon shift is recommended as you will appreciate the sunset in the desert.

OPTIONAL: City tour Ica. We will have the following visits: The Cathedral of the city of Ica, some vineyards in the area and the Huacachina Lagoon. This is a traditional resting place for the people of Ica. The lagoon appears as an oasis in the middle of the desert, forming a splendid landscape of dunes, palm trees and huarangos (desert trees). Return to the hotel.

Day 3: Nazca lines (Inca astronomy)

08:45 Hrs. We depart to the city of Nazca with the transportation company Cruz del Sur.

10:45 Hrs. Arrival to the city of Nazca and transfer to the airfield for the overflight of the Nazca lines. We will board a small plane that will fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines; huge line drawings of animals, birds and geometrical figures, drawn in the desert, which can only be appreciated from the air.

4:30 p.m. Departure to the city of Lima (Transport Company Cruz del Sur 3:00 Hrs duration).
